A voyage by boat along Upper Arrow Lake at low water in April 1991 uncovers pieces of the past often covered up during summer while also showing the effects of erosion on the lakeshore. Highlights include a visit to the ruins of the sawmill at Pingston, the remains of Arrow Lakes Lumber Co’s log loader embedded in the beach at Galena Bay, a view of the scar left behind by the 1903 landslide atop Mount Sproat, the remains of the sunken SS Bonnington at Beaton, and the ruins of the ghost town of Comaplix.
