We did it.

While we have all had film experience, none of us are natural fundraisers. None of us have ever done a crowd-funding campaign or raised anything more than a few dollars from a bake sale. This process stretched all of us in different ways and tested our confidence, but the reward was so worth it.

And we’re not just talking about the money. Of course, we are eternally grateful and so thrilled to start making this movie. But on a more personal level. Being able to see your support - family members, old friends, co-workers, and strangers - was probably the most emotionally impactful part of this. With every dollar given, we felt that more people believed in us - which made it easier for us to believe in ourselves. Seeing your names, seeing that you thought of us and took the time to help us on our way was humbling. We often found ourselves overwhelmed by the generosity and love that you all shared with us.

We always knew that this film was important; we saw it in the YouTube comments, in the festival win and the news articles. Being funded further validates the story we are trying to tell. The reason Sam Orlowski wrote this film was because she felt like she wanted to see a different sort of Sapphic representation. The fact that you all supported us all the way to $36,497 goes to show that she was not alone in that hope. We are so, so overwhelmed with gratitude to all of you and we can’t wait to continue to share this journey with you.

Over the next few months, we will continue to keep you all updated with our project, and you will begin to see the rewards coming in soon. The Kickstarter page will still be active, so you will be able to comment and interact with us whenever you want! We would love to hear from you!
