2001-12-21 - Cominco / Sullivan Mine - Over 100 Years in Kimberley, B.C.! Last Days Captured

Today, 22 years ago noon, Mike Turner was there quite a few times through Cominco History, this time however, he was able to capture the last moments and emotions of Cominco / Sullivan Mine's historical existence in Kimberley, BC!

Over 100 Years, Cominco has provided over 80 Billion dollars into it's local communities which sustained the hospital and many other key resources that Kimberley had. After it's closure, as many hoped, Kimberley is now a thriving tourist community, with great memories of this mine, including the Kimberley Library, the Mining Rail Museum, the tour into the tunnel in one of those trains. One would say, you'd almost get a glimpse of the experience the miners and workers did through the many years of hard work and dedication.
