Описание к видео Around the world in 21 days! (25/05/18/Central European Summer time) (6/10)

Around Kronborg Castle
25th May 2018. (Central European Summer Time) Breakfast is included in the price. The sky is blue, outside everyone is riding on a bike, cool breeze is coming in through the windows. I was just leisurely eating breakfast because there is no rush today. The ticket I bought yesterday entitles me to go to Helsingør, situated one hour north of Copenhagen. In William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, Helsingør is immortalized as Elsinore. Kronborg Castle is located by the coast, one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe. The sound between Denmark and Sweden is a mere 4 kilometres wide, the narrowest point of the Øresund River, hence the castle was built here. I was just sitting there playing on my phone when a Japanese guy sat opposite me. NIshii is a culinary advisor for Japanese schools, he is here in Europe to learn about how Europeans prepare school meals, he is particularly fond of the Danish system whereby schoolchildren take part in making the school meals. I was delighted to hear from him that he also likes Thailand and Vietnam because of the food there.

At 10.00 I started to walk to the train station, it is located 1 kilometre away along a straight road. Near the train station I exchanged a 20 Danish Krone note which is no longer in use. I remember sitting outside the entrance to the station 16 years ago. I jumped on the 11.11 train bound for Helsingør, I like the fact that Danish trains are designed for people with prams, bicycles and the disabled. The train runs close the coast, we arrived in Helsingør at 11.55. Kronberg Castle is just 5 minutes from the station by foot. I went to the castle but I didn't go inside.

Danish train stations don't sell the ferry tickets. I had to go to 7-11 to buy a ferry ticket for Helsingborg in Sweden, DKK86, this is my first time in Sweden in 16 years! The 'travellers' on board were buying lots of beer, things seemed cheaper on the ferry. It was only a short ride to Sweden, Helsingborg seemed a lot bigger than Helsingør. Call me ignorant but I couldn't tell the difference between Denmark and Sweden. I had lunch here, SEK95 but I had to get rid of the Swedish coin. When I left Helsingborg I bought some milk at the terminal just use up all the coins. There was Wifi on the ferry. At 16.31 I took the train back to Copenhagen.

Back at the hostel I saw the French girl and the Austrian guy, we met earlier on in the morning. She gave me 12 krone in exchange for some euro coins, I didn't like carrying these coins with me. I went to bed quite early. Today I took 2 trains and 2 ferries. Total money spent in Sweden was SEK120 all on food. In Denmark I spent DKK462, the amount spent on food in Denmark was a mere DKK139.95 because I ate in lunch in Sweden.
