2014 Chevy Sonic Engine Code P0171 Air Intake Hose Replacement

PLEASE READ:
GM actually did send me a letter offering a replacement of the air intake hose for FREE from any of its dealers. Unfortunately for me, I forgot about the letter and replaced it myself, although this did keep me from having to waste hours at a dealer to fix it. According to the letter the offer is good for ten years or 120000 miles. It should be good for anyone with one of these cars, even if you bought it used like me.

I go over what you have to do to remove and replace the air intake hose on a First generation Chevy Sonic with 1.8L engine. This is a common problem with these cars, but luckily it's an easy fix. DO NOT waste your money on a dealership fixing this problem if you have even a little bit of automotive knowledge!
