RISK FACTORS FOR KIDNEY DISEASE:
Diabetes Mellitus.
Hypertension or High Blood Pressure.
Obesity.
Previous stroke or a heart attack.
Family history of Kidney Disease.
Cigarette smoking.
The age over 60.

Screening leads to early detection. Early detection and meaningful intervention reduces the risk for progression to End-Stage Renal Disease, ESRD, and the need for dialysis or kidney transplantation.
A simple blood test, Creatinine, so we can calculate GFR, Glomerular Filtration Rate. And a simple urine test or urinalysis, for Albumin, will give the answer about the presence or absence of kidney disease, even better microalbumin as well.
