Chinese idiom: It's never too late to mend - 亡羊补牢

从前，有个人养了一圈羊。一天早上他准备出去放羊，发现少了一只。原来羊圈破了个窟窿。夜间狼从窟窿里钻进来，把羊叼走了。
Once upon a time, there's one man raised and kept many sheep. One day, when he is going to herd the sheep, he finds that there's one sheep lost. It turns out that there's a hole broken on the wall. The sheep was caught and hunted when one wolf went inside from the hole during night.

邻居劝告他说：“赶快把羊圈修一修，堵上那个窟窿吧！”
The neighbors persuad him "Hurry up and repair the sheepfold, make the cavity blocked off."

他说：“羊已经丢了，还修羊圈干什么呢？”没有接受邻居的劝告。
He replied "Now that the sheep has already gone, what's the use of repairing and decorating the sheepfold?"

第二天早上，他准备出去放羊，到羊圈里一看，发现又少了一只羊。原来狼又从窟窿里钻进来，把羊叼走了。
The next morning, he starts to herd sheep. When he reached the sheepcote, he finds one more sheep is lost there. Once more, the sheep was carried off by the wolf when it went inside from the hole.

他很后悔，不该不接受邻居的劝告，就赶快堵上那个窟窿，把羊圈修补得结结实实。从此，他的羊再也没有被狼叼走的了。
He is very regret for not accepting the neighbors' advise. This time, he immediately block the cavity, and make the sheepcote firm and solid. From then on, no one sheep has been caught and hunted ever since.

小故事大道理：羊因为羊圈的空缺被狼叼走了再去修补羊圈，还不算晚。比喻出了问题以后想办法补救，可以防止继续受损失。
Little story but big knowledge: It is still not very late to repair the sheepfold when knowing some sheep have been caught and hunted by the wolf. The acutual meaning is when you are going to find a solution to remedy after something going wrong, it still helps to prevent lossing and damaging.
