How To Remove a Malayan Pit Viper from Your Home or Yard?

One of the most dangerous snakes in Thailand is the MALAYAN PIT VIPER (Calloselasma rhodostoma). This snake is a venomous pit viper with large fangs that is ground-dwellling. This snake does not move out of the way when you are walking toward it, so it may bite if you are too close or you step on it. The bites can inject potent venom that causes bleeding from all orifices as clotting factor is used up and production cannot keep up.

You will likely recover if you go immediately to the hospital. Those who die as a result of bites from this snake typically wait too long for hospital treatment.

All public hospitals are required by law to have the antivenom for this snake. Do not go to a private hospital or private clinic. Go to the largest hospital in your area.
