How To Clean Your Engagement Ring, Jewelry & Pearls At Home + After Care

Let's clean your jewelry!
Cleaning your jewelry and engagement rings can easily be done from the comfort of your home. All you will need is a soft soap, for example dish soap (dish soap will also help with grease removal), a tooth brush, hot water and a cleaning cloth!

-First you will set your ring in a bowl of almost-hot water, let it sit for 10 minutes. This will allow all the soap residue and creams that have built up over the years to soften allowing for an easier clean.
-Once you've hit that 10 minute mark, take your tooth brush, your dish soap and give it a good scrub.
-Rinse it in a second bowl of water and scrub it down again with your toothbrush to make sure you remove any remaining soap and debris.
-Then dry it off with a cleaning cloth or a blow dryer and voila, your rings are clean!

The second half of the video we will be looking at the after care or your engagement ring and general maintenance. Every 5, maximum 7 years, you should always bring your engagement ring, wedding band set into your jeweler to have it checked. What we will do during this inspections is:
1) Clean your jewelry using an ultrasound (providing a deeper clean then possible at home)
2) Verify if all the prongs are still intact and repair if necessary
3) Polish your rings
4) If made in white gold, we will rhodium plate your rings

We will also be covering pearls and how to clean your pearl necklace. Because you should never submerge your pearls in water, but rather clean them using a cloth of warm water to wipe them down, removing the build up of grease and creams.
