Piscifun Alijos 400 for a Slow Pitch Jigging Reel? On the Water Testing & Review

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel! As many of you are realizing, I am a USCG licensed Captain and I am running both freshwater and saltwater personal training sessions!

Today we are taking the Piscifun Alijos 400 Saltwater/Freshwater Baitcasting Reel out to the rock fishing grounds in Southern California with our friend Richard who has never used Slow Pitch Jigging tackle before. Our target is BIG rockfish solely using specialized light tackle slow pitch jigging gear. I thought that the Piscifun Alijos 400 would be a great reel for this application so we went out to validate it.

I will say that we were all incredibly impressed by the performance of the reel for this application in particular. It held plenty of the 39lb jigging braid to easily reach the depths and the 6.6:1 gear ratio on this Blue & Purple option for the Alijos 400 was fantastic to work the jig, and fight the fish to the surface.
