মুসলিম সংস্কৃতি তথা ইসলামিক নিয়মে প্রত্যেকটা মুসলাম মা-বাবাই চায় তার সন্তানের নাম ইসলাম ভিত্তিক হোক। মেয়েদের ক্ষেত্রে মহিলা সাহাবীদের নাম অনুসরণ করে অনেক ভালো ভালো ইসলামিক নাম বের করা যায়।

এখন আমরা জানব সাহাবী কাকে বলে? মহানবী হযরত মুহাম্মদ (সাঃ) জীবিতকালে/জীবনকালে যেসকল মহিলারা ইসলাম গ্রহণ করেছে এবং একই সাথে পরিপূর্ণ ইমান সহিত ইসলাম পালন করেছে পাশাপাশি রাসূল (সাঃ) কে নিজ স্ব-চক্ষে দেখেছে, মূলত তাদেরকেই মহিলা সাহাবী বলে।

রাসূল সাঃ এর যুগে মহিলাদের যে নাম ছিল তার শেষে তাদের পিতার নাম যোগ করে পরিচয় দিত।
