General Zod had been banished to the Phantom Zone for his crimes against Krypton, but he was determined to rebuild his race and restore their dominance. Zod knew that the Codex had been hidden on Earth, along with the last surviving Kryptonian, Superman. He and his loyal soldiers set out to find the Codex and use it to rebuild their society. The search for the Codex was difficult, but Zod was relentless. He and his soldiers combed the planet, searching for any clues to its location. They left a trail of destruction in their wake, with no regard for the lives of those in their path.
