Chess Set for Teaching | Triple S Games

For this video I have collaborated with Triple S Games to make them a chess set that they can use in their YouTube videos for teaching how to play chess. They needed a relatively small board to fit within the constraints of their studio and recording process, so it has a playing field that's only about 13" x 13" (33cm x 33cm). The board is made from walnut and hickory and it has a frame made of quarter sawn white oak.

The chess pieces are made as double-sided discs with the representation of each piece on the top and bottom surface of the disc. This makes the pieces suitable for teaching chess with the camera positioned above the board.
