Susan co-ordinated the Stuttering program in the Discipline of Speech Pathology - teaching, research and clinical practice for over 40 years. She is now an adjunct member of staff, serving on the College Academic Misconduct committee and the School Unsatisfactory Progress committee. She is a higher degree supervisor and continues her research involvement in the discipline. Susan has an Honorary appointment at the School of Public Health, Tropical Medicine and Rehabilitation Sciences at James Cook University in Townsville and serves on the Course Advisory Committee for the Speech Pathology programs at the Central Queensland University in Rockhampton and at the Charles Darwin University in Darwin. She has previously held honorary positions at the University of Sydney (Australian Stuttering Research Centre) and the Royal Children's Hospital and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Melbourne. Susan has taught stuttering components into speech pathology programs at Auckland University in New Zealand, Universiti Kebangsaan in Malaysia, Sydney University, the University of Melbourne, Flinders University, James Cook University and Central Queensland University. She has given invited presentations to speech pathology students in Poland, Bulgaria, London as well as invited presentations in many other countries. She is an active member of the Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) association as a member of the Victorian branch executive. She also serves as a Senior Member on the Ethics Board for SPA and she is a Fellow of SPA. The Australian Speak Easy Association has awarded Susan a Life membership for her contribution to the self-help association and she serves as an advisor to the group. She currently runs a private practice for people of all ages who stutter.
