Spiritualized & The Bittersweet Symphony of Heartbreak

Описание к видео Spiritualized & The Bittersweet Symphony of Heartbreak

It wouldn’t be out of place to put ”Ladies and Gentlemen We’re Floating in Space” in the top tier of 90s music. Spiritualized’s magnum opus has frequently been regarded as one of the best albums of the decade and was even named album of the year by NME, beating out giants such as Radiohead and The Verve.

Sure, we can all agree that it’s an amazing album but many often disagree about what the album's trying to say.

Considering frontman Jason Pierce’s years of drug-use with his previous band, infamous psych-rockers Spacemen 3, and his lyrics featuring numerous reference to various substances, the album can easily be seen as a glorification of drugs. But since Pierce recently had separated from his partner many also view it as a break-up album. It’s ambiguous to say the least.

So, ladies and gentlemen… love or drugs? Which is it?
