A week or so ago, I played a gig down in Athens, AL. The theater there shares a space with the Delmore Brothers Museum…this was one of their big songs and one that we jammed on a bit backstage. Of course, the most popular versions in bluegrass are probably the Doc Watson version and the Tony Rice version. Here’s a little of my take on the Tony version.

The guitar is a 1954 Martin D-28. I’m using a Primetone Dunlop 1.4mm pick and D’Addario Nickel Bronze medium gauge (13-56) strings with a Shubb Fine Tune capo.
