It's estimated that over 100 millions tonnes of clothing & textile waste ends up in New Zealand landfills each year releasing greenhouse gases, CO2 and methane, as they decompose.Each kilogram of this waste creates over 2kg of greenhouse gas emissions.

For every kilogram recycled or reused, more emissions are saved than from paper, plastic, and glass recycling combined.

The Textile Reuse Programme is a collaboration between industry, government and social enterprise building a circular eco-system for clothing resources. Our Partners, Alsco NZ, Barkers Menswear, Wellington Zoo, Deane Apparel and Wellington City Council, are leading the change that is so urgently needed.
