" These are five of the best and most popular line figures in the Waltz. All are entered with a rotation to the left starting with a Throwaway Oversway, now an Oversway. We then dance into a Hinge Line, our fourth line is a Hover Corte and our final line in the sequence is a Left Whisk. We're now going to have a look at the same combination of line figures as danced from another angle. Starting with the Throwaway, the Oversway, the Hinge, the Hover and the Left Whisk.

We are using a natural unwinding action with a forwards preparation step for the man and a backwards preparation step for the lady to join these line figures together in one continuous sequence. Obviously this is not how you would choose to dance these figures in a competitive routine but it's very useful for practicing them. One thing that all of these line figures have in common is definitely a clear unwinding of a rotation to the left and a beautiful completion of headspace between the man and the lady.

We're now going to have a look one more time it's the emotion from another angle. Each of these line figures does show something different so depending on your style preference and your physique you might choose one of these line figures over another. For example if you had long legs you might choose to dance the Throwaway or a Hinge Line. If you are a very tall couple you might choose to dance the Hover Corte. It would just depend on your preference and what suits you best."
