Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews will undergo a "significant period of rehabilitation" at home after being discharged from hospital this morning, where he was being treated for injuries he sustained in a fall last week.

Mr Andrews suffered broken ribs and a fractured vertebra after slipping on wet stairs at a holiday house on the Mornington Peninsula last Tuesday.
Doctors from the Alfred's trauma centre say they are pleased with Mr Andrews' progress, but the road to recovery will be long.
