Olivia Munn shared more in the news this week about her decision to have a hysterectomy after breast cancer and I break that down. Hysterectomy is often used to talk about removal of all the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries BUT it is actually just the removal of uterus and cervix. Salpingectomy is removal of fallopian tubes and oophorectomy is removal of ovaries. I go over it all in the video and talk about endocrine therapy (tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors) and how they are used in combination with ovarian suppression.
