Modernized complete sound edit of the Tech Noir scene of the iconic "The Terminator" film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Here, the shotgun used by Kyle utilizes the 'T@ shotgun' sound, which was put together using various sources for the layers of sound after careful auditioning!

The Process:

The original audio is used in the beginning and through various parts minimally, with enhancements using modern tools. The presence of the the dialogue of the characters is noticeably fuller with more weight. Also compensated sounds like the music in the club being audible through the telephone.

All the guns used in the film were researched and consequently auditioned through various video uploads on YouTube. The original sounds were then replaced using a sound library, using a variety of sound layers to bring the overall punch and feel of modern sound in cinema.

For the shotgun Reese uses, as tribute to Terminator 2's iconic showdown between the T800 and the T1000 in the Galleria scene, I replaced the conventional layering of shotgun sounds with the same layers used to create the Terminator 2 Winchester 1887 shotgun sound.

Areas that were missing sound in the original film have sound replacing the silence. The club soundtrack (Burning to the Third Degree) was downloaded and processed to sound as it does in the original film, but then allowed to incorporate newer sound effects.

Using MS EQ technique, I brought out the low-mid range of the dialogue without bringing the low-mid range of the rest of the elements in the mix out. The result is a fuller sounding voice recording of the characters.

The original soundtrack was re-added to seamlessly flow with the original audio of the clip where necessary.
