Onan V45 First Startup

Onan V45 first startup - Today I got the Onan V45 genset to run on its own and was able to verify it produced voltage. It did. The motor did not run perfect which was expected. Basically, everything will need to be adjusted. Actually, the entire genset will need to be torn down and refurbished, that is expected with any genset that is about 90 years old. Luckily, this genset was not hacked up.

One major issue I found is the governor. Once the genset is started, the governor opens the throttle wide open. For this video, I had to manually control the governor and it fought me the entire time the genset was running. If the governor was working correctly, this V45 V4 flathead would purrrrrrrr like a kitten at 120 vac, 60Hz.

If anyone can provide any information no matter how big or small on the Onan V45 as well as the 2 cylinder flathead versions, it would be much appreciated. From what I understand, there are parts that are shared between the 4 and 2 cylinder flatheads.
