A skilful pilot managed to control his hang glider during a turbulent flight above a massive fire.

On February 5, Juan Camilo Marin Giraldo, from Roldanillo, Colombia, flew through a column of smoke from a burning field, hoping the hot air would help him gain height.

However, as he was rising up, Juan suddenly entered a pocket of cold air which made his craft briefly plummet towards the ground.

Despite his rollercoaster rider, the 25-year-old managed to hold on tight and land his aircraft safely.
