Hello friends! I'm Nyka aka spudcat, and I love traditional art making, I appreciate the tactile experience of working with physical materials like paint, pencils, or clay, and the unique quality of each handmade piece, and the creative process that comes with handling materials directly. The process is very daunting but also satisfying. 🫶
I'm not a professional clay artist, so my process may not be look appealing, it's not perfect, so please bear with me hehe 🙏 I'm a very much a beginner on this medium, practicing for atleast 7 months now while still working on my 95% job. (I still can't afford to leave my 95, since I need to support myself buying my materials, hehe).
The experienced was very much different from when I'm creating my own stickers before, I must say, digital work was not for me, it stressing me out, big time. 🤣 But in clay art making, it's soothes my soul, my inner child is very happy! 🥹I remember, it's always my childhood dream to create my own toys, I used to create my own characters using papers, card boards and clay dough (specifically for barbie foods) haha. And now I can't even imagined myself creating my own clay art toys, I think my desk friends are in decent looking unlike my first and 10th try or much more (maybe I could share some clips of my very first attempts in clay art). haha
In clay art, I can easily forgive myself, if it's not working, I can easily moved on then just create new. I'm not a very patient person, I can easily get frustrate but when I took the courage and tried clay art making, the process is much daunting but I saw myself changing bit by bit, my mindset is much different from before, I'd learned how to enjoy the process, to take time, and to be more disciplined. I'd learned how to love the imperfections, and how to appreciate myself, my own progress. And from that, I am very thankful. I'm growing personally. 🥹
Anyways, let me share one of my lil desk friends "Mash" the potato girl, not your typical couch potato, but she is a very introverted one, who find comfort in eating foods, literally made with "potatoes". Who can relate with her? Hehe 😍
Hope you'll love it. Thank you so much, everyone! 😍#clay #clayart #claylove #clayartist #claysculpture #artistsoninstagram #artistjourney
