Acne is a chronic inflammatory condition which requires expert evaluation and treatments
Using over the counter medications will not help in keeping acne at bay especially if you have moderate to severe acne. If acne is leaving behind scars, then we prefer to give oral medications as scars once’s formed can never be normal skin. So, we have to put on all the effort to reduce new acne lesion.

Clindamycin is a commonly prescribed for acne. It reduces the overload of bacteria which causes acne. But it should not be used alone.
It should be paired with benzoyl peroxide to reduce the chances of antibiotic resistance.

Other options for mild acne are
