Positive Express’s sole album, ‘Changin’ Times’, returns after more than forty years in the vault.

Released in 1981 under the guiding hand of Sylvia Robinson, the record captures disco-funk at its best, where stellar musicianship and songwriting meet irresistible groove and style. The group, rising from the same New Jersey scene that fed Robinson’s All Platinum and later Sugar Hill Records, stylishly crafted an album where bass-driven grooves, satin strings, and brass punch ride alongside a wonderful selection of lead and backing vocals that are full of life and fun. It’s a reflection of disco’s at its pulsing peak and a signal of the 'Changin' Times' and what was to come.

Engineered by Chris Lord-Alge and many other notable and highly influential studio personnel of the time, this forgotten gem is available digitally for the first time since its original 1982 pressing, and resurfaces here as an overlooked chapter of the era’s crossover between dancefloor opulence and the raw spark that was reshaping Black American music of its time.
