Common man thinks that piles and fistulas are one and all the same. Most of the times they are thinking they are suffering from pan. They are entirely different sizes, but in the same area. Piles are nothing but bunches of blood vessels present for everybody in 3 groups. They act as valves. they act as anal cushions. When more blood flows ad they starts increasing in size, we call them as piles. Pies and haemorrhoids are one and the same. Only terminology is different. When they start coming out, it is called as prolapsing piles. There are different stages of piles.
