Today we are checking out the Silicone Case from Apple in Midnight for the new iPhone SE. This case has some neat features but does not come cheap. The question is, is the silicone case from Apple for the iPhone SE worth it? Midnight iPhone SE to match the Midnight case. Just before I put on the case, inside there is this microfibre interior. Will help prevent scratches to your phone when taking the case on and off. First impressions, feel good in the hand. Grippy yet soft at the same time. Very similar to Apple’s other more recent silicone cases. Pairs perfectly with my Midnight iPhone SE. The midnight colour is so versatile, I think it will pair well with all iPhone SE colours, and pairs best with midnight, thought with the other colours you can create some really nice contrast. Compared to older versions of Apple’s silicone cases, this case feels more smooth and a little less grippy. Will still comfortable slide in/out of pocket and won’t collect as much lint as the previous versions do, but still won’t stay as lint/dust free as the leather case for example. Not an ultra-slim case, but adds minimal thickness to the phone. In terms of finger prints, holds up well, doesn’t show many during day to day but will during a workout for example but even then can be rubbed off using a damp cloth
Raised edges by screen, even with screen protector and the back is raised enough so that the lens doesn’t touch the table when placing the phone down. Works with wireless charging. Buttons are made of the same silicone as the case. They are somewhat clicky but not as clicky as with the leather case which has aluminium buttons that move separately from the case, which I personally prefer the feel of. The bottom of the case is left open, unlike on the iPhone 13 cases. In terms of durability, based on my 2 weeks of using the case so far on my iPhone SE, I would not be worried. In fact I’ve used Apple’s silicone case on my iPhone 13 for several months and that has held up well. The layer of silicone provides a thin layer of impact protection which will help if ever you drop your phone. There is a lot to like about Apple silicone case for the iPhone SE, are there any downsides? There’s just one, price. Coming in at $35, these cases are not cheap. But what you get with the Silicone cases from Apple is a case that is well made, fits the phone perfectly, comes in a range of colours, has some nice features such as the microfibre interior and really is an easy option and easy recommendation!
