Loro Parque has recently celebrated a new birth in its Aviaries: a Scarlet Ibis chick, a species original of South America with a vibrant red plumage that you can appreciate in our innovative and spacious aviaries next to the Naturavision Cinema. We invite you to watch this video to get to know the newborn, still covered in its initial black feathers. Over the next one and a half years, the color of its feathers will change into the magnificent scarlet colour of the adult birds which is a result of the presence of carotenoids in the Red Ibises’ nutrition that get absorbed and give this colour to their feathers.
