Alien Storm - Scooter (1991) | Wranker 4K Megadrive Real Hardware Playthrough | Retrotink 4K

Описание к видео Alien Storm - Scooter (1991) | Wranker 4K Megadrive Real Hardware Playthrough | Retrotink 4K

Full playthrough of Alien Storm, released in 1991 for the Megadrive/Genesis played as the self destructing Robot, Scooter, AKA Slammer in some versions. A side scrolling beat 'em up, Alien Storm was originally released a year earlier in the arcade, and while not as visually pleasing as that version, the Mega Drive port follows its namesake beat for beat and even includes the 2 player mode and 3 selectable characters. The game may not look particularly ground breaking, but Sega used some clever line interrupt and tile placement techniques to achieve the "on a rail" shooting sections. This was another of my favourites back in the day, I actually got it as a bundle title with my Megadrive II, included in the Mega Games 3 compilation cartridge, including Super Thunder Blade and Super Monaco GP, and while typically "90s hard", Alien Storm is great fun and well worth playing, especially with a friend, and quite possibly has the best ending sequence to any game.

******* Notes on this Video *******
This playthrough was captured on a VA1, Asian, Model 1 Megadrive. I have modded the console with a custom RGB Triple Bypass to remove noise and the dreaded jailbars. This is arguably the best picture output possible from any Megadrive/Genesis. The VA1's are hard to find, so if you are a creator, and need any footage for a video, contact me, and I'll sort it out for you.

The gameplay was integer scaled and correctly clocked with the RetroTink 4K, recorded in 4K using the M.2 Avermedia 4K Live Gamer capture card, both great bits of equipment, highly recommended for retro game enthusiasts.

I upload these playthroughs, mainly for real hardware footage preservation, which is why I use no watermarks or overlays and record the footage in integer scaled 4:3. Feel free to use it as you wish, all I ask, is you don't just reupload it in full. Credit to my main channel would be greatly appreciated, but not required. Youtube, obviously bit-crushes video and audio while compressing, so if you want the raw footage of this video, contact me.
