Originally launched as the Fiat 1100 Delight, it was rebranded in 1974 as the Premier Padmini, a name inspired by a 14th-century Rajput princess, symbolizing grace and elegance.

Under the hood, the 1988 Premier Padmini housed a 1,089 cc inline-four petrol engine.
