Helston to Porthleven, Cornwall

Описание к видео Helston to Porthleven, Cornwall

From Helston to the seaside town of Porthleven through Penrose passing Loe Pool, Cornwall's largest freshwater lake, and Loe Bar, the treacherous sand bar separating Loe Pool from the sea, which claimed the ship HMS Anson in 1807 resulting in the loss of over 100 lives, which in turn brought in a law in parliament declaring that all people who die at sea must be given a proper burial, as well as inspired local inventor Henry Trengrouse to invent the rocket life saving apparatus, more commonly known as the Breeches Buoy. From Loe Bar, it's then along the coast path to Porthleven.
