A name that doesn’t come up often now a day is Patrice Wymore. Patricia was a Dancer, Actress, Singer, Horsewoman and Business Owner. Miss Wymore was a success on screen and off screen during her lifetime.
Patrice Wymore:
Born – 1926 – At age 4, Miss Wymore started her dance training at a dance school in Salina, Kansas. Soon after her training had begun, Miss Wymore was performing in Vaudeville all over the State, including picking up the title, “the Shirley Temple of the Mid West”.
In 1944 Miss Wymore had travelled to New York City for a well earned break. After having discussions with her parents, she stated, “I want to make it on Broadway”. Her parents transferred funds set aside for College, on the pretext that if she had not made it by the time the funds ran out; she would need to return home.
Between 1944 and 1948, Miss Wymore worked hard as a dancer, model and as an understudy.
In 1948, Miss Wymore’s big break came in her Broadway debut in the production, Hold It! 1948. The same year, she was nominated and Won a Theatre World Award for Promising Actress. However, her performance in the Broadway Musical, All for Love, 1949, gained her a contract from Warner Brothers.
Miss Wymore Hollywood debut came in 1950 musical, in Tea for Two. During her Movie/TV career, Miss. Wymore appeared in over 25 productions. Such as, Rocky Mountain, 1950 - I'll See You in My Dreams, 1951 - She's Working Her Way Through College, 1952 - The Errol Flynn Theatre (TV Series), 1956 – 1957 - Ocean's 11, 1960.
