The annual National Cornbread Festival is held at the end of April each year in the town of South Pittsburg, Tennessee -- the home of Lodge Cast Iron. On the morning of Sunday, April 29, 2018, Lodge Cast Iron hosted a "Cast Iron Collectors' Tent" for the first time, especially for collectors of cast iron cookware to gather, banter, and enjoy themselves as they discuss cast iron among themselves and with visitors from the public. Lodge invited several persons to speak at this event. This was the speech I gave that morning. I hope you enjoy it. The audio has a bit of an echo, but that doesn't seem to make the words any more difficult to understand.

Our Cast Iron Cooking group has a list of at least 100 additional symptoms of castironitis. For instance...

...if you consider remodeling your home especially to have more room to better store and display your cast iron, you might have castironitis.
...if your friends and family have all received standing orders to be on the lookout for old cast iron, you might have castironitis.
...if you heat up your oven to cook, then realize you forgot to take all of those cast iron pans out of the oven, you might have castironiits.
...if you're cleaning out your bakeware cabinet to make room for the cast iron you bought this month, only to find three boxes of new cast iron you forgot you bought ten years ago, you might have castironitis.
...if your kitchen cast iron pans are all different from your camping cast iron pans, you might have castironitis.
...at Christmas time, If your friends say to you, "I didn't know what to get you, so here's a rusty old pot I found for three bucks at the scrap yard," your reply is,"Wow! Thanks! This is the greatest present EVER!"...and you honestly and sincerely mean it, you might have castironitis.
