Elec-Mech manufactures the anti-2-block and easy fit ( seamless fitment ) counterweight which couples with the anti-2-block.

The anti-2-block has recently been designed with stainless steel and improved smaller or slimmer and is very neat, further eliminating damage to the switch which does happen from time to time. The anti-2-block switch is fitted at the tip of the boom to the winch line ( main and / or auxilliary ) to prevent the hook block from being pulled into the pulleys and boom head.

Effectively, once the switch is activated, the safe load indicator computer will warn the operator and in most cases, the winch line will be arrested or stopped on activation of the switch. The counterweight is attached to the anti-2-block switch by means of a chain, pulling the switch down in normal operation. If the operator of the crane winches up and the hook block reaches the counterweight, the switch then activates ( in up position now ) and the signal is then returned to the computer warning the operator.
