Cook Food on Your Engine? Engine Block Cooking Overland Hack

Overland Hack - cooking on the engine block is easy and safe and makes for a nice warm meal when you are out on the trails. Check out this video where we do some engine block cooking making tacos using the heat from our engine block. The recipe is below but you can use this technique for cooking or heating just about anything.

Recipe: Fill your flour tortillas with pre-cooked meat of choice, add cheese, beans, salsa or whatever warm ingredients you prefer. (Do not add any ingredients you want served cold like guacamole) Roll the flour tortillas into tacos. Place all the tacos in heavy duty aluminum foil. Double wrap the tortillas, ensuring the edges are crimped, to ensure the fumes from the engine bay do not affect your food taste. Please the foil packet on your engine - we prefer flat spots like on top or near the headers - and allow the food to warm for an hour to an hour and a half. Cook time will depend on your particular food density, starting temperature and size. Once heated, serve with a smile knowing you just made some tasty food using your engine block.
