Masjid e Tauheedul Islam was established in the center of Blackburn in the 1960s with the aim of providing a place of worship for the expanding Muslim community, and facilities to cater to the Islamic educational needs of their children. The Masjid is located in Blackburn, Lancashire which is an industrial town near Manchester with a Muslim population exceeding 35,000. This represents over 20% of the total population in the town. The town has many Masjids, Madrasahs, Islamic scholars, and Hafizul-Quran, and by the grace of Almighty Allah has earned a reputation as a major influential community in the UK.
