Claire and Joy Flatz were leading ladies in a number of Ethington productions as Grand Canyon University students, now the talented twins have landed roles as Thing 1 and Thing 2, respectively, in Tempe-based Childsplay’s production of "The Cat in the Hat.” They’ve performed Shakespeare and musicals, but admit they weren’t too far off from Dr. Seuss’ blue-mopped, red-outfitted mischief makers as children.
