Описание к видео MV Klitsa HD

A Tour of BC Ferries' MV Klitsa. Built in 1972 for the Ministry of Transportation and Highways in North Vancouver as the Denman Queen, she was likely built to replace the MV Catherine Graham on Route 21 between Buckley Bay and Denman Island. She was also one of the many vessels with 'Queen' in her name the MOTH would rename. Soon after entering service, she was renamed Klitsa, after the mountain on Vancouver Island near Port Alberni. This renaming put her in line with the rest of her sisters which all had names starting with K, hence her class being known as the 'K' Class. In 1978 the Klitsa was replaced by her slightly larger sister ship, the Kahloke. Not much is known where the Klitsa was during the 80s before and after the merge with BC Ferries, but by the 1990s, she was assigned to Route 20 between Chemainus, Thetis Island, and Kuper Island (later renamed Penelakut Island) During this time, she could also be seen on the Fraser River operating in place of one of her Albion Ferry sisters: the Klatawa and Kulleet between Fort Langley and Albion. (near Maple Ridge) In 2007, the Klitsa was replaced on Route 20 by the newly purchased and rebuilt MV Kuper, after this she sat mainly at Deas and was only used for refit relief. In 2011, the Klitsa recieved a major uprgade and later that same year replaced the 55-year-old Mill Bay on Route 12 between Brentwood Bay and Mill Bay where she still serves today.
