This was the Final Road course event for the 2011 One Lap of America with only the dry skid pad event left the following day. There was definitely more time on the table for another 1-2 seconds faster but I would have needed some practice time to safely harness that speed out of the car.

The 3rd place finish here left us tied for 5th overall with the #2 GTR driven by Catesby Jones and helped open up some breathing room to the #7 Twincharged Civic that was charging hard driven by William Chan. Turns out we needed a 15th or better finish on the Dry Skid pad to secure 6th overall since Chan had just ran a 1.065g. Catesby rattled off a 1.120g giving them 1st in the Dry Skid Pad despite taking all 4 wheels into the grass and risking a DNF. Luckily I ended up finishing 13th in the Dry Skid Pad with a 1.007g run which was my second time ever driving such an event. Considering we ran 18 points events over the 8 day race it really came down to the wire!

The custom top mount STM GTX30 turbo setup performed flawlessly all week and was a definite 60 crank HP jump over last years setup without stressing out the stock block past reliability limits. Full specs can be seen at our website here:

We are happy to report that we finished 1st in class again this year and improved our overall finish to 6th place out of a field of 75 cars. We were also able to help our main sponsor Barry Stewart of Igloo Building Supplies raise over $118,000 for Kids with Cancer!

We plan on being even more prepared for next year's event with a built engine, aero package, taller gears, and hopefully some more experienced driving!
