One of the several fully electric McNeilus side loaders from Republic that have been hitting the streets of California this year. This one running out of the Long Beach yard. It's nice to see many of these trucks now performing well. Most of the typical reliability issues that came up with these when they were first put in service earlier this year have now been resolved. Ironically though, this unit broke down shortly after I began filming it. The grippers stopped responding and got stuck in the closed position. The driver was able to fix it himself but dealing with this made it take over 2 hours just to do a few streets. Luckily for him though, it was the final part of the route.
