Seeing this, people are often shocked and wonder why it was necessary to puncture such a beautiful new road. But this “Japanese technology” is the secret to get zero potholes in the road.
First, special plastic molds with cone-shaped sections are laid on the ground. Then, a strong steel mesh is placed on top, and concrete is poured over it. Once the road dries, the real work begins. The tops of the molds are broken open to reveal the holes. A machine is then used to widen and smooth these openings, which are filled with gravel or plants.
Now, when it rains, there's no waterlogging, no mud, and no traffic jams. All the water drains directly into the ground. Even heavy trucks can pass over it easily. So, where the world might see a hole as a problem, Japan turns it into a solution.
