Masculine and Feminine Nouns in Portuguese | Learn the Gender of Nouns in Brazilian Portuguese

GENDER of NOUNS in BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE - Probably you have already noticed that Portuguese nouns have genders: they are either masculine or feminine (or both!!!). How can you tell the gender of a noun then? How to know if a word is masculine or feminine in Brazilian Portuguese? In today's class, we will cover part of it. We will see a few rules with examples related to occupations. Today you will learn that:

some occupations have specific words for masculine and feminine forms
others can be easily transformed from the masculine form into the feminine one (and vice-versa)
and finally, some will remain exactly the same regardless of the gender

When it comes to the gender of nouns, my suggestion is (and will always be) to learn them little by little through examples. Try to identify some patterns. Be aware of the exceptions 😉
