Originally from Tuscany, but partially raised in Brazil, Gropina is an Italian DJ and music maker living and working in Amsterdam.

His first relevant approach to music was as drummer in a punk band, following he started to experiment with records through sampling and creating hip-hop inspired music. Not long after he started to Dj in small bars.

His sound is a blend of different influences without time or space boundaries, laying somewhere between balearic, downtempo, tribal, new age and 80s dance music with a hint of the infamous italian afro-cosmic sound, always seeking for an emotional approach, recombining elements from the past to create new ways of reinterpret them.

Nowadays he is the co-founder of Paesaggi Records and has seen his debut EP “Mare Aperto” on September 2017
