A group of extraordinary deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Office showcased courage and selflessness in the face of danger when they responded to a chaotic scene in February. A man was trapped inside a burning car, and with unwavering determination, the deputies used over a dozen fire extinguishers to keep the flames at bay. This allowed them to prevent the worst of the fire from reaching the driver until the fire department arrived.

Thanks to the dedication of these first responders, Brandon Dookharan survived this harrowing ordeal. However, the journey to recovery was anything but easy. Brandon spent 89 days in the hospital, undergoing more than a dozen surgeries.

Today, we acknowledge the spirit of these deputies and their commitment to protecting and serving our community. Their selflessness reminds us that heroes walk among us—ordinary individuals who rise to the occasion when lives hang in the balance.
