A1A is about growing up going to The Jettys on the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida.
“It’s a story that generations of my family and friends can relate to. We all grew up going to The Jettys. It was a way of life that we lived with gusto! Whether you were surfing, fishing, camping, chilling out catching a tan or cruising the beach in big trucks, dune buggies, or VW vans, if you were down at the point, the rocks, the inlet, or across the flats, you were always having a blast with your buddies and your favorite music always cranked up. No matter the weather- Rain or Shine. Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall- We always made it to The Jettys!
We all have that special place to go that inspires good feelings, good times, and great memories and that place for me is The Jettys, and the way to get there… you gotta go down A1A”.

And it is with great gratitude that I express my appreciation for my son Christian Kato and my mother Martha Johnson that inspired me to write this song.
You all ROCK!!
If you grew up going to The Jettys- I hope you can appreciate this song.
Lyrics:
Rollin’ down Heckscher Drive cruisin’ down that same old line
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve seen those same old signs
I’d be a millionaire today for every curve and beach I see
All the boats on the water - Lord how it stimulates me
On the dunes in the old days we’d run around and laugh all day
Take a drive in the truck get stuck a time or two
At night we’d build a big ol’ fire - Hang with the ones that we desire
Kicking back with the moon and singing our favorite tunes
A1A - We’re on our way
Feeling fine in the sunshine
A1A - We’re on our way
Leavin’ our troubles far behind
The next day it started the same, got together with the whole gang
Somedays you knew you had to borrow some time and catch a ride
Maybe a mustang maybe a van, In that day it didn’t matter then
Because we knew we had to catch the tide and ride that perfect line
Its time to run to water through the water, feel the salt all on my skin
Now I’m seeing all the beauty that my momma seen back them
We paddled out we paddled far, out with the sunrise into the stars
I thank the Good Lord the next day He gave me a chance to start it again
A1A - We’re on our way
Feeling fine in the sunshine
A1A - We’re on our way
Leavin’ our troubles far behind
