In this quick video, I share my experiences installing the Fender Flares for the 2022 Can-Am Defender. I’m going to highlight the tough parts of the install and recommend a few videos that helped me when I ran into a tough spot.

As of Aug 2022, you will see two fender kits for the Defender, make sure you are ordering the right one for you.

This fender flare kit is getting installed in a 2022 Defender DPS. If you have other Defender trims or have the rock slider or side protection around the bed, you will need to download the instructions and use the provided templates to print and cut portions of the fender flares in order to fit. In my case, I’m stock so no cutting was required.

Time to install is a few hours based on your comfort level as you will have only one shot to screw in the screws into the plastic the prices and over tightening will mess it up. You will also need to mark holes for the middle piece as the dimples you will find for most of the screws to not align. For this I used a Q-tip dipped in water based paint to mark the hole when the piece was properly in place. You won’t be able to fit in a marker or scratch.

The other area where you will get slowed down is the 1 screw for the front pieces that will go into the color trim near the headlights. There is a modded hole that shows you where to align your drill bit and drill out (drill from inside out). The space is tight and hard unless you can get your Defender up on block or on a ramp/trailer to get a better view.

The back pieces are the easiest to install as you screw into the plastic by matching up the fender to the dimples. The last hole is a nut & screw that secures directly onto the bed.

The middle piece is hard to secure since it is all nut & screws. You will to put your bed in the dump position and unclip the cylinder for better access. For the this a simple 10mm ratchet wrench for the but and an angle hex key on the outside was the bet way to attach those. Also be aware that the bottom hole to drill for the middle piece is bigger since we will be inserting a grommet that will secure the screw as you tighten.
