How To Create A Successful True Crime Podcast

In this video, Jimmie Whisman shares what it takes to create a successful true crime podcast.

This week, I want to share a clip from my podcast, The Podcast Therapist, where I spoke with Jimmie about the content development process with both his podcasts, Crime in Sports and Small Town Murder.

In this clip, we learn how deep research of case files play a huge role in the development of both of their true crime podcasts and the lessons that have been learned along the way. James Pietragallo spends over 40 hours in his week thumbing through case file after case file in order to craft the perfect true crime story that plays a role in the presentation of the content.

Jimmie states that after each podcast is researched, the record button is pressed and the first run of the podcast is what is likely what will be shared to their audience. in the case of this true crime podcast, Jimmie believes that an unedited podcast lends itself to natural and organic reactions that will allow for a better content flow and listener loyalty. He believes that if you edit too much of your podcast and don't make it organic, it can lead to average content consumption.
