This is the first part of GCE O Level Physics (5054) paper 1. Questions 1 till 10 have been discussed in detail.

O Level Physics paper 1 contains 40 questions, and all questions are compulsory.

Some details regarding questions are:

Question 1: The resultant force on an object is the force left over after equal and opposite forces have cancelled out; the one force which would have the same effect as all of the forces; the vector sum of the forces on the object.

In simple words, it is described as the total amount of force acting on the object or body along with the direction of the body.

Question 2: Fact

Question 3: To find speed from a speed-time graph, locate the proper value from the graph.

Question 4: Constant velocity means that forward and backward forces are equal.

Question 5: Newton's third law states that whenever two objects interact, they exert equal and opposite forces on each other.

Question 6: Friction force is always in the direction opposite to the direction in which the object is moving (e.g if you are moving forward, friction will be backwards).

Question 7: A is the only force that will allow him to turn to the left (because the force itself is to the left).

Question 8: Fact

Question 9: Weight = mass x gravity

Question 10: Mass remains that same because it is the amount of matter in a body. The other quantities change with heat.
