440a stainless steel is low-end steel, with decent edge retention and hardenability. It’s very affordable and has excellent corrosion resistance and comes at the same level as the 420Hc

For a knife of this size, this is suitable steel and All the knives in the Rough Ryder Buckshot Bone Series feature 440A stainless steel blades.

The handles are Buckshot bone with brass liners, red underliners, nickel silver pins, embossed nickel silver Slant R bolsters, and a diamond-shaped nickel silver Rough Ryder 20-years shield.
